Improving City Services for All.

Improving our city services is a top priority for me. I am committed to expanding library services to ensure every resident has access to the resources they need. Our libraries are more than just places for books; they are hubs of learning, community interaction, and personal development. 

By introducing more programs, enhancing digital resources, and updating facilities, we can make our libraries even more impactful for residents of all ages.

Establishing the use of electric vehicles within the city’s fleet is another crucial initiative. By transitioning to electric vehicles, we can significantly reduce our carbon emissions, contributing to a cleaner, healthier environment for everyone. This move will also lead to cost savings in the long run, as electric vehicles are more economical to operate and maintain compared to traditional vehicles.
Additionally, I aim to introduce more charging stations throughout the city to encourage residents to switch to electric vehicles. This will not only make our city more eco-friendly but also position Victorville as a forward-thinking community that prioritizes sustainability.

Creating Opportunities: Bringing Better Jobs to Victorville.

As a City Council member, I’ve had the chance to hear our residents’ biggest concerns. One of the most frequently mentioned is the need for better job opportunities. Many residents have to commute down the hill to the Inland Empire or Los Angeles for better-paying jobs.

I want to change that. I am dedicated to working with corporations to bring better jobs to Victorville so that our residents can work and thrive right here in our city.

Let’s keep our college graduates from going down the hill. By collaborating on projects like the high-speed rail with Brightline and discussions with Metrolink to connect Victorville to Barstow, we can create more opportunities for high-wage jobs. These projects will help us achieve that goal, making Victorville a place where people want to work and live. We must also invest in workforce development programs that provide training and skills development for our residents, ensuring they are prepared for the jobs of the future. Partnering with local educational institutions, we can create pathways to careers in emerging industries such as technology, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing.

Enhancing City Programs and Events.

While working for the City of Victorville, I actively supported community events and festivals like the annual Victorville Christmas Parade, Spice of Life, Fall Festival, National Night Out, and more. These events are crucial to helping our city thrive. Our residents deserve to have activities and fun events to spend the day with their families. 

That’s why I’m committed to enhancing community programs and offering more support for our parks and recreation department that maintains our parks and rec centers.

As such, our youth deserve more opportunities for engagement and development. One of my ideas is to develop a Victorville sports complex, offering programs like city sports leagues, Little League, and basketball for our local youth. Supporting and expanding the reach of local organizations already working with our youth will make Victorville a better place to live and grow.
We need to invest in after-school programs, mentoring initiatives, and educational resources that provide our young people with the tools they need to succeed. By creating safe and supportive environments for our youth, we can help them develop into responsible and productive members of our community. Additionally, I am committed to enhancing our parks and recreational facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained and accessible to all residents.

Community Commitment: Serving with Dedication.

Victorville is not just where I live; it’s who I am. My family’s roots in this community date back to the 1920s. Growing up on E Street and working for 34 years in the city’s public works department has ingrained in me a deep commitment to serving our citizens

All I’ve ever known is serving the city and serving the citizens, and this is what motivates me every day. 

I want every resident to feel they have a voice in our city’s future. During my time on the City Council, I’ve supported Measure P, a sales tax measure designed to generate funds for public safety and quality of life initiatives, including addressing homelessness and crime and upgrading city services like our plans for a new library. My goal is to ensure Victorville remains a city we can all be proud of, offering top-tier services to our residents. I am dedicated to maintaining open lines of communication with our residents, ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed.

Ensuring Public Safety: Building a Secure Future.

As Victorville continues to grow, our police department must grow with it. I have been a strong advocate for the plans to create a new police station, ensuring our city is well-equipped to handle its expanding needs. 

With the City Council’s approval, we’re set to build a new police station on Civic Drive and Seneca, right across from City Hall. This new facility is part of our larger Civic Center project, which will help streamline our operations and enhance public safety.

We need more deputies to cover our growing city, and I am committed to making this happen. I know we can’t go back to what Victorville used to be, but I want it to be a safe place for our families and children. This starts with strengthening the bonds between our community and our police, especially among our youth. I want to work with our city council and staff to create programs where our youth and police can work together, building trust and understanding from an early age. Additionally, I support further community policing strategies, such as a public safety oversight committee, which have proven effective in reducing crime and building stronger community ties.
